A native of Union County, Bill is a graduate of New Albany High School, and The University of Mississippi undergraduate and Law Schools with a Juris Doctor degree. He is a member of the Mississippi and Union County Bar Associations, (justice....ATLA’s new name), the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association, and has been admitted to practice in many State and Federal District Courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Bill’s professional law and business experience is significant and varied. In public service he has served as Union County Prosecuting Attorney, Public Defender, and Union County Youth Court Judge. In private practice he has handled many jury trial cases with multiple verdicts or settlements each for hundreds of thousands dollars, with at least three cases for a million or more dollars. He also represents several corporate clients and defends in business law matters.

In addition to a very active law practice, Bill’s career includes previously owning and operating several successful businesses, including The New Albany Gazette (1969-1979), and part ownership in The Tallahatchie Broadcasting Corporation (1979-1983) and Rutledge Publishing Co. He is also a director of, and attorney for, The Bank of New Albany, a position he has held since 19–. He is a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran (Captain and Bronze Star) and is an Eagle Scout. Bill’s commitment to community service includes the American Legion, VFW, Rotary Club president, Union County Development Assn. president, Yocona Area Council Executive Committee. He is a Sunday School teacher in First United Methodist Church where he has been an active member since childhood and held many official positions. He and his wife Gayle have seven sons.


A Native of Union County, Joe is a 1991 graduate of Mississippi State University and a 1995 graduate of The University of Mississippi School of Law. He is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, Union County Bar Association and the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association. Joe is a former adjunct professor at the University of Mississippi. He has been admitted to practice in Justice, Chancery, Circuit, Supreme Court, Federal, District and 5th Circuit Court of Appeals courts. Joe is currently serving as the elected Prosecuting Attorney of Union County.

Joe is a member of Kiwanis Club (Past President) and serves as the attorney for the New Albany Main Street Association, the Union County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, Union County Fair Board and Magnolia Civic Center. Joe is currently serving as a Trustee for Northeast Mississippi Community College. He and his wife, Jennie, have two children and are active in the First United Methodist Church in New Albany.


A native of Potts Camp, Matt is a 1989 graduate of The University of Mississippi and a 1999 cum laude graduate of The University of Mississippi School of Law, where he finished in the top ten percent of his class. He is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, Union County Bar Association and the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association and has been admitted to practice in Tennessee courts (State and Federal), Justice, Chancery, Circuit, Federal, District, and 5th Circuit Court of Appeals courts.

Matt served on the Mississippi Law Journal and has received several awards in the field of bankruptcy. Matt is an Eagle Scout and currently serves as an officer in the New Albany Kiwanis Club and President of the Union County Ole Miss Alumni Club. He and his wife Jennifer (J.J.) have three children and are active in First United Methodist Church in New Albany.
